We realised that there are many people who, whether for reasons of old age, illness or the loss of close friends and family members, feel increasingly alone and isolated and don’t know where to turn for help. We also found that many family caregivers are in desperate need of respite, even if it’s only for a few hours a week.
We believe that the most compassionate and effective approach from a client’s point of view is a person-centred philosophy. At an initial meeting with the client we will establish their requirements and agree a plan of action that sets out exactly what we will do in future visits.
We will do whatever we can to help our clients maintain a satisfactory quality of life. This can range from providing in-home care and help around the house or with shopping to helping them to pursue hobbies and interests, accompanying them to appointments, visiting local amenities such as a garden centre, café or library, or simply having a walk to the shops or a chat over a cup of tea or coffee.
